Listing Description

The Garden House is a small, community run project based in Marple, Cheshire. We rely solely on donations from visitors and local businesses and organisations, and aim to provide a valuable outdoor space for families and local organisations, including those who cater to those with complex needs, to learn about animals and nature in the world around them.

The Garden House is not only home to pygmy goats, Shetland ponies, Gloucester old Spot and Kunekune pigs, alpacas, rabbits, chickens, ducks and geese; there’s also a bug hotel, a butterfly house and an avery. We are also introducing a breeding programme for the Gloucester Old Spot pigs which are a rare breed, and we will also be looking at an incubation programme for Norfolk Grey hens and Plymouth Red Rock hens. We also accomodate orphan lambs and chicks in the spring.  With the River Goyt flowing adjacent to the area, it’s the perfect place for those from local schools and BTech courses to learn about caring for animals and nature in this abundance of natural beauty and wildlife.

The Garden House is one of the few visitor attractions in Marple, and we rely solely on donations from the public and visitors.
