Sphere Science has a series of practical, hands-on, investigative workshops for all ages. A one-day school visit would enable up to six classes to experience these fun activities. In each one, the children are challenged to think and work scientifically. In many cases they make items which they keep for further investigations. We arrive with all the equipment and resources needed – we just require a room and the children!
The SEEDS Project is a set of activities that can take place in the lunch break. The Y5 pupils are trained in how to run the club, how to teach Y2 and how to maintain the kit. At the end of their time with the club, they train up their successors so that the club can continue for the next year, and so on. It is truly sustainable.
Our SPLATS Project is a two-day event. One day one, the students are trained in how to deliver a set of science activities. Throughout day two they deliver these activities to local Y5 pupils, typically up to 200 of them. The secondary students develop transferable skills while the primary pupils enjoy a day of fun practical science.
The Inset courses we provide are also practical with participants being able to try out a large selection of activities from across our workshop programme. They then have loads of ideas to take back to their classroom.
We are all able to provide activities for Family Days.
