Funky Feet Music

0 Listed

Kim Pott, Founder and Director of Leicestershire based ‘Kimble's Music and Movement’. and ‘Funky Feet Music’. Our songs and activities were born out of a passionate belief that all children deserve the very best. Good songs leave a lasting impression and contain huge potential to make a difference to our lives. The importance of music and movement cannot be emphasised enough, and I firmly believe that multi- sensory activities linking both body and brain provide an excellent foundation to prepare children for formal learning. For the last 15 years Kim has worked with parents, teachers and children facilitating classes in movement to music through sensory play. Having studied a Masters Degree at CREC in Early Childhood, She linked theory with practice and her training and the music company Funky Feet Music was born. One of the first to produce songs for the popular dough dancing activity and many others to support early years physical skills. Kim now spends her mornings working with children in various capacities and by twilight teaching adults why movement matters. Also Kim is an international trainer who runs workshops for schools, nurseries and local authorities but also a multi workshop leader at exhibitions such as Childcare Expo Award winning Publications Resources include cd and teachers guide to inspire, engage and motivate children to move, developing both the body and brain. ‘Learning through play’ Imagine driving a police car over the rainbow, stop off to help Mick to fix an aeroplane, go spinning, flying, jumping with friends and dancing with clowns as well as singing the days of the week. ‘Lark in the park’ use your memory and sequencing skills to help out in the garden, raise your heart beat on the pogo, imagine riding horse back to Grandpa Joes or dancing like a cowboy. ‘Going on a journey’ Parachute fun with a ride on the magic carpet whilst we travel around the world to the rhythm of the jungle, the tropical island, the animals of Oz and count the fish in the sea. Also Award winning - Chase the Rhythm and Pop like Popcorn
